Events & Classes

“At its best, story provides us with ways to see ourselves, ways to affirm our struggles to overcome adversities, ways to help us reach out to others and forge relationships. Story creates an intimacy that is remembered in mind, body, and soul for a lifetime… Through the storytelling experience we bind ourselves to others. We need to share our stories because in so doing we hope to be understood, and being understood we are no longer alone.”

Julius Lester
from On Writing for Children & Other People,
Newbery Honor-winning Author of To Be a Slave

It is the goal of the Partners Again Creative Writing Foundation to make available to people -- young and old -- a myriad of classes, events, camps, opportunities and the like to inspire creativity and strengthen the individual, family, and community through the powers of the imagination and the creative arts -- particularly creative writing.

When possible and applicable, the following events are free of charge to all kids, schools and/or other organizations that benefit kids where there is a legitimate social, physical, emotional, mental, financial, or spiritual need for such interaction and education. To recommend a child, student or organization for consideration of acceptance into one of our programs, please contact support at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

That being said, the PACWF is also not in the habit of turning any one away. If your child or someone you know would like to attend and does not meet our definition of having a “legitimate need”, they may participate for a small camp/course fee to cover their costs. By doing so, they are also helping us assist other kids who cannot afford to come. Click on the appropriate links below or email support for more information.

“A man, to be greatly good, must imagine intensely and comprehensively;
he must put himself in the place of another and many others;
the pains and pleasures of his species must become his own.

The great instrument of moral good is the imagination.

Percy Bysshe Shelley, A Defense of Poetry
